The Windsor Park Beautification Committee had its first planting event last weekend. On Saturday, June 4th, we worked at the front entrance of the community removing weeds and old tulip bulbs, rearranged some existing plants, and adding new Lantana at the monument sign and Russian Sage at the flower bed south of the driveway. Dan Albes kindly donated a rose bush and blue spruce, which he planted in the flower bed too. On Sunday, we added mulch to the area and filled in some sinkholes in the neighborhood.

I’d like to give a big thank you to Dan Albes, Pam Reitz, Phyllis Johnson, Romondo Davis, Deb Davis, and Judi Thomas for your labor and knowledge! I’d also like to thank Millie Saunders for the beautiful plant arrangement in the urn on top of the sign!
Special thanks to Dan Albes who:
- Spent several weekends surviving our needs at the entrance and tree replacement where trees were removed and going to the nursery to find out what was available.
- Worked on recommendations list.
- Made the purchases and got us a large discount.
Be on the lookout for more plans to add trees and bushes in our community this summer and fall.
